Service AttendantSchedule:1st shift
Location: GM facility in Lake Orion, MI
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our materials handling team. This role involves daily operations support including inventory management, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance
- Complete Worker Safety Engagement process daily
- Maintain and record all required safety and operational paperwork
- Perform daily Workplace Organization (WPO) and cleaning of assigned work areas
Materials Handling & Logistics
- Operate flatbed burden carriers and forklifts throughout the facility
- Unload packages from delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Make in-plant deliveries and prepare materials for outbound shipments
- Check Point of Use (POU) areas for empty bins and coordinate crib replenishment
Inventory Management
- Review packing slips and verify material counts for accuracy
- Fill customer orders and verify balance on hand quantities
- Process transactions accurately in SAP system
- Report discrepancies to Supervisor for follow-up and correction
Customer Service & Teamwork
- Interface professionally with plant customers and team members
- Complete supply runs and label runs as assigned
- Support additional tasks as directed by Supervisor
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous warehouse or materials handling experience preferred
Technical Skills
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory management systems
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips and work orders
- Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for handling various package sizes
Essential Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assignments
Technical Experience
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse management systems
- Previous forklift/high-low operation experience
Professional Skills
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
- Inventory control or supply chain background
- Customer service experience in business-to-business settings
