We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to maintain and support the daily operations of our commercial properties. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and ensure building systems operate efficiently to provide a safe and comfortable environment for tenants and occupants.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Maintenance and Repairs Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and manufacturer guidelines. Troubleshoot and repair building equipment including lighting fixtures, door hardware, locks, and safety systems. Address tenant work orders and service requests promptly and professionally.
- Building Operations Monitor building automation systems and energy management controls. Inspect fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, and alarm systems. Maintain grounds including landscaping, parking areas, and exterior building elements. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Documentation and Communication Complete detailed work orders and maintenance logs using computerized maintenance management systems. Communicate effectively with tenants, contractors, and property management teams. Report major equipment issues and recommend repairs or replacements to supervisors.
- Emergency Response Respond to after-hours emergency calls as required by rotation schedule. Coordinate with emergency services and contractors during urgent situations. Implement emergency procedures for power outages, water leaks, or system failures.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of facilities maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders and scaffolding.
- Capable of working in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Available for emergency call-outs and occasional weekend work.
- Trade school certification or vocational training in relevant field.
- HVAC certification or willingness to obtain within first year.
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
