What this job involves: The Building Maintenance Specialist supports JLL's commitment to exceptional client service by maintaining facility operations with specialized expertise in carpentry, drywall repair, and furnishing installation/maintenance. This role ensures facilities remain functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with JLL's high standards of quality and safety. This position is also responsible for the general maintenance of an office/lab environment and works daily with the Operations and Maintenance teams to provide excellent customer service to our client.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Execute skilled carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, cabinet installation, and woodworking repairs to maintain building integrity
- Perform drywall installation, patching, finishing, and texturing to uphold facility appearance standards
- Install, repair, relocate, and maintain office furnishings and fixtures according to client specifications
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and respond to work orders in accordance with service level agreements
- Troubleshoot and resolve general maintenance issues across multiple building systems
- Experience with door repairs a plus (Automatic Operators, Hand Wave Sensors)
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and material usage
- Adhere to JLL safety protocols and procedures at all times
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours emergencies
- Support sustainability initiatives through proper waste disposal and efficient resource utilization
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 years of related working experience
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems and software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to stand and/or walk for a prolonged period of time
- Trade school certification or vocational training in carpentry, construction, or related field
- Experience with automatic door systems, hand wave sensors, and electronic access controls
- Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Experience working in laboratory or office environments with specialized requirements
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- OSHA safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience with furniture assembly and office space reconfiguration
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED principles
