Position Description/Overview
The Registered Dietitian will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical nutrition services across a 240-bed campus serving skilled nursing, rehabilitation, short-term recovery, and long-term care residents. This position offers the opportunity to maintain a meaningful clinical caseload while collaborating closely with nursing, culinary services, rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary care teams to enhance resident health outcomes and quality of life.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical nutrition services across the organization.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of dietitians, fostering professional growth, accountability, and clinical excellence.
- Maintain a clinical caseload supporting residents in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, short-term recovery, and long-term care settings.
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized nutrition care plans that support resident health outcomes and quality of life.
- Serve as a collaborative partner to nursing leadership, rehabilitation services, admissions, social work, activities, and medical providers to ensure comprehensive resident-centered care.
- Partner closely with Culinary Services leadership to align nutrition goals, menu planning, resident satisfaction, and dining experiences.
- Lead and participate in interdisciplinary committees focused on quality improvement, weight management, wound healing, and resident outcomes.
- Support the development and enhancement of nutrition-related initiatives, including wound care and healing-focused programs.
- Analyze nutrition-related trends, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement while implementing evidence-based best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements related to nutrition services and clinical documentation.
- Act as a champion for resident wellness by helping bring nutrition services to the forefront of organizational initiatives and quality efforts.
- Evaluate department processes and introduce innovative approaches that improve efficiency, collaboration, and resident outcomes.
- Contribute leadership insight and industry best practices gained from previous healthcare settings to strengthen campus-wide programs.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or department management experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, or healthcare settings.
- Strong clinical nutrition knowledge with experience managing complex medical and rehabilitation populations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and build collaborative relationships across departments.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and team development skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing nutrition services in long-term care settings.
- Passion for resident-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical involvement.
Salary Range
- $70k-$80k
