Position is responsible for loading and unloading equipment onto trucks/trailers, making sure to record all necessary information. Will construct crates for equipment transport while maintaining warehouse in a neat and orderly manner. Will install advertising materials onto equipment as needed. Will be required to keep neat, legible records and be organized, along with other job duties. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Loads all equipment on a predetermined truck/trailer combination for a balanced load and proper delivery order, and for both domestic and international containers, recording all serial numbers. 
  • Unloads all returned equipment and checks equipment serial numbers, matching them with returned equipment. 
  • Transport all finished equipment to and from warehouse locations. Accurately record correct serial numbers, using equipment transfer forms, and turning this information in to Equipment Supply Manager or Equipment Supply Assistant. 
  • Maintain all warehouses in a neat and orderly manner. 
  • Constructs crates for all equipment shipped by outside carriers and records serial numbers. 
  • Unloads incoming materials and equipment from vendors, inspect and assure accurate materials are received, sign the bill of lading ensure safe delivery to the location of where materials are to be placed. 
  • Ability to follow both written and oral instructions. 
  • Must report to work on time and be able to work long hours. 
  • Physically be able to perform job duties (team lifting up to 200 lbs.) 
  • Safe operation of a forklift. 
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area. 
  • Attend weekly safety meetings and follows all safety procedures, and assure all safety measures are followed in the department. 
  • Ability to work as a team in a team environment, and promote teamwork in the department.  

 

COMPETENCIES:  

Carpentry 

  • Ability to install advertising equipment on Equipment, such as Sneeze Guards, POP brackets, ETC 
  • Ability to determine type of crate to construct based on the Carrier, Freezer, and quantity of Equipment being shipped.  
  • Ability to Design and Construct crate to house and safely transport irregular equipment or irregular quantity of POP merchandise. 
  • Ability to repair multiple styles of crates back to original condition upon arrival from carrier. 
  • Ability to adapt and change dimensions of crates to improve accessibility for the customers or to house fixed POP items. 
  • Ability to change saw blades on different types of equipment loading department saws. 
  • Ability to memorize and act under Dippin’ Dots safety regulations and OSHA standards in regards to operating Equipment. (Impact Drills, Radial Arm Saw, Air ratchets, Drills, Panel Saws, Portable Table Saws, Etc.) 
  • Completion of crating in compliance with required date listed on the order form.  
  • Design and build crates to house and safely transport Tradeshow supplies and equipment.  
  • Ability to review blueprints to construct variety of crates, as listed by a build sheet.  
  • Ability to use materials in a conservative manner to reduce waste. 
  • Ability to assemble freezer carriages. 

Forklift Operation 

  • Transfer equipment to Production area for equipment transfer to external warehouse. 
  • Transfer of equipment between storage facilities to complete orders as listed on the order form. 
  • Transfer of trade-show equipment between warehouses. 
  • Transfer of refurbished or partially refurbished Kiosks between warehouses 
  • Exchanging faulty equipment to Freezer Repair department. 
  • Utilizing each trip to the back to bring up necessary equipment to complete orders. 
  • Perform all forklift duties under any circumstance regardless of weather. 
  • Use forklifts to modify freezers mobility. 
  • Use forklift to properly keep the Returned Kiosks area in Neat, and space efficient order. 
  • Load crates on carriers in particular order to ensure crates deliver at same time period. 
  • Load carriers in manner that utilizes majority of space in trailer to maximize storage capacity.  
  • Knowledge of how to transport and load specially designed crates and kiosks. 
  • Knowledge of where materials are normally unloaded and notify the appropriate department of a delivery.  
  • Inspect each crate unloaded from carrier for any damages cause by the shipper. 
  • Ability to stack new freezers that are unloaded off container in efficient, safe, and timely manner. 
  • Know proper steps to execute when receiving materials/equipment from shipper that was damaged in transit.  

Organizational Skills 

  • Organize orders by Vinyl relation, Two-Way Crates, California Equipment Transfer, Pick-Up Orders, and so forth on a bulletin board. 
  • Maintaining contact with crew in regards to changes in equipment, new equipment to be transferred, POP needing to be transferred, equipment parts needing to be transferred, ETC. 
  • Organize crates inside building based on estimated ship date, with the ability to work on multiple orders for multiple days.  
  • Inspect condition, appearance, ability to function, of each piece of Dippin Dots equipment before Shipment.  
  • Placement and retrieval of protective additives to ensure safe delivery of equipment. 
  • Assist Production’s Shipping and Receiving department with completing orders that have freezer accessories or other items kept in stock in the Kiosk Building. 
  • Knowing time-frame each task takes to complete to ensure a constant working effort to compete orders to utilize time on the clock. 
  • Maintaining Return Kiosk area in an efficient, neat, and orderly manner, to maximize storage capacity. 
  • Ability to arrange crates outside of building in accordance to carrier.  
  • Ability to efficiently maintain items on storage racks.  
  • Knowledge of types of pallets that can be used to complete orders apart from unusable pallets that is to be discarded of.  
  • Ability to separate Bill of Lading paperwork by carrier. 
  • Ability to separate completed orders by date. 
  • Ability to organize any extra crates in appropriate and safe manner. 
  • Ability to document and track number and types of crates that is extra in the Kiosks building. 
  • Ability to maintain a relevant number of items in Kiosks building used to complete orders to notify supervisor of low supply, if needed. 
  • Properly store tools in tool storage compartment to ensure easy accessibility to find and operate tools. 

Document Evaluating 

  • Ability to include type of equipment additives to be installed or shipped with equipment orders. 
  • Ability to read External Warehouse transfer orders to depict type of crates, if any, to construct. 
  • Organizational dependency on performing tasks in order of the orders Required date. 
  • Troubleshoot document errors and follow correct steps to resolve miscommunication. 
  • Responsible for reading emails/bulletins regarding specific instructions regarding return freezers, changes in procedures, or new safety regulations. 
  • Evaluate freezers temperature to document proper function of equipment.  
  • Complete return paper work for return equipment. 
  • Based off of shipper, know when to document damage of returned freezer and report on equipment return sheet. 
  • Able to match each returned crate by pro number on Bill of Lading.  
  • Ability to write list of order numbers to crates to signify which crate is for a particular order. 
  • Ability to select one-way or two-way crate based on information provided by order. 
  • Ability to complete Equipment transfer sheet when transferring Kiosks, Freezers, Cabinets, ETC. 
  • Ability to perform an End of the Day Checklist to ensure proper storage of equipment, tools, and appropriate cleanliness of the shop. 
  • Evaluate equipment based on credentials and variety of way credentials are written, to indicate programming, verification of temperature, and modifications of equipment.   
  • Constant communication with vinyl department to complete freezer requirements as stated on order. 
  • Ability to make list of crates to build based off of information provided by orders for a particular estimated ship date.  
  • Ability to make list of equipment to transfer to Kiosk building based off of information provided by orders for a particular estimated ship date. 
  • Evaluate Bill of Lading sheets and verify quantity and pro numbers of crates specified on carrier’s return receipt to ensure the delivery is correct. 
  • Ability to participate in complete inventory of items and equipment under equipment loading department in a timely manner. 
  • Ability to ensure the completion of daily forklift inspection sheet. 
  • Ability to ensure the completion of pre-trip inspections of Dippin’ Dot trucks before use. 
  • Ability to place pro-stickers on crates to correspond to order numbers label on the external part of the crate. 
  • Ability to document each freezer that is delivered to the Marine Warehouse accurately, legibly, and in timely fashion.  

Local Truck Operation/Trailer Loading 

  • Inspect load list to find which orders go with each trailers designated to depart. 
  • Inspect load diagram to properly load equipment in sequence. 
  • Knowledge of different fastening equipment, how to use with equipment, when to use with particular equipment. 
  • Knowledge of the storage of fastening equipment and how to properly place back into original container. 
  • Practicing safe work practices when operating company vehicles in compliance with OSHA and company policies. 
  • Knowledge of how to properly place straps on equipment to ensure safe delivery to prevent damage to equipment. 
  • Ability to pick-up and deliver materials used in equipment loading department.  
  • Ability to pick-up and deliver Kiosks in need of and refinished kiosks locally. 
  • Ability to load pick-up supplies for truck drivers to ensure the safe return of equipment. 
  • Ability to conduct all loading activities under any circumstance regardless of weather condition. 
  • Ability to perform pre-trip inspection of the truck and trailer before each use. 
  • Ability to use trailers to transport large quantities of equipment between local warehouses.  
  • Ability to unload returned Dippin’ Dots loads without further damaged to used equipment.  
  • Ability to clean each trailer after the unloading process is complete, return materials and fastening equipment to designated location. 

 

Required Experience: 

Prefer 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
