What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Mixer position at Jimmy's Salad Dressing & Dips?
Overview:
The Assistant Mixer is the primary backup to the Mixer Lead and is responsible for the Mixer Lead’s duties when they are not present. Additional duties include pre-weighing dry and wet ingredients for further processing at a later time, equipment sanitation, and additional duties as assigned. Normal shift hours start at 4am and end based on production needs. All shift hours are subject to the needs of the business. Compensation is hourly and ranges from $20/hr. - $25/hr.
Mixing Responsibilities:
Batching
- Ingredient Weighing
- Ingredient Mixing
- Ingredient Documentation
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Staging
- Equipment staging
- Stick pumps, transfer pumps, hoses, lines, etc.
- Drum Unloader
- Filler pumps & nozzles
Ingredient staging
- Ingredient measuring
- Spice prep
- Emulsifying prep
- Sanitation
Packaging staging
- Holding tanks
- Drums, liners, etc.
Sanitation
- All equipment, parts & components
- Room sanitation
- Floors, tables, walls, etc.
Inventory Management (Fishbowl)
- Ingredient management
- Ingredient rotation
- Label generating
Communication
- Attend weekly Production Team Meeting
- Communicate “Issues” as they occur to relevant counterparts
- Work with Mixer Lead, Production Manager and Packaging Leads to resolve issues as they occur
- Training & knowledge sharing
Production Schedule
- Work with Operations Specialist and Production Manager to execute daily/weekly/monthly schedule
Preventative Maintenance
- Execute cleaning & maintenance schedule for equipment & components
- Document all work performed (Internal work orders)
- Catalog spare parts used
Food Safety & Quality (FSQ):
- Responsible for upholding GMP’s and quality standards
- Product Testing
- Hygiena Swabs, PH Testing, Temperature Monitoring, Visual inspection
- Documentation
- Cross check verification for execution of other duties
- Certification & recertification (Chemical training, GMP, etc.)
- Assist with audits, inspections, certifications and facility tours
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE):
- Responsible for upholding safety standards
- Execute safety programs
- PPE, LOTO, forklift safety & documentation, confined space, etc.
- Execute health programs
- Proper hygiene, GMP’s, etc.
- Execute environmental programs
- Environmental monitoring, quarterly maintenance, cleaning, etc.
