What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Contractor / Helper position at JGC Electric LLC?
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, and motivated Electrician Helper to join our growing electrical contracting team. This is an entry-level, field-based position where you will work directly under the supervision of licensed electricians and experienced crew leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with residential and/or commercial electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit.
- Pull, route, and strip wire through walls, ceilings, and panels.
- Set up job sites, gather materials, and hand tools to technicians as needed.
- Dig trenches or assist with basic underground electrical layout work when required.
- Clean up work areas, organize truck inventory, and maintain job-site safety standards.
- Follow all OSHA safety rules and company guidelines on every project.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: Previous construction or electrical experience is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right person with a strong desire to learn.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, dependable, and ready to work full-time hours.
- Transportation: Must have a reliable way to get to and from the shop/job sites daily.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, work in tight crawl spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Tools: Basic hand tools for the trade preferred (or willingness to build your own tool belt).
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean/insurable record
