Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing day-to-day accounts receivable operations, including customer service, collections, and cash application
- Monitor customer accounts (dispensaries, distributors, wholesalers) to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies
- Review AR aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts
- Ensure all transactions comply with California cannabis regulations (e.g., licensing requirements, track-and-trace systems like METRC)
- Coordinate with sales, compliance, and distribution teams to resolve invoicing or delivery discrepancies
- Support preparation of financial reports related to receivables, revenue, and cash flow
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
- Assist in managing credit risk by evaluating customer payment histories and setting credit limits
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounts receivable or accounting experience
- Experience in cannabis, highly regulated industries, or CPG preferred
- Familiarity with California cannabis regulations and compliance requirements is a strong plus
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Experience working with cannabis compliance systems (e.g., METRC)
- Ability to manage high-volume, multi-entity transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Location: Fully remote (California-based)
- Reports To: Sr. AR Manager
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, highly regulated
- On-Site Requirements: May require occasional on-site presence depending on licensing and operational needs
- Schedule: Occasional extended hours may be required
- Compensation: $78,000–$92,000 per year.
