What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser/Imaging Operator 3rd Shift(12:00am -8:00am) position at Jetson Specialty Marketing?
An
Imaging Operator for JSM’s Print Operations Group will be controlling and utilizing a commercial laser printer with
a high level of proficiency to obtain quality and quantity goals according to
customer’s guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Examine job jacket
to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, colors, or
special printing instructions.
- Clean ink and keep
machine clean and operational.
- Collect and
inspect random samples during print runs to identify any necessary
adjustments after each roll.
- Download or select
programs or files to be printed, using printing production software.
- Feed paper through
press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls.
- Input production
job settings into workstation terminals that control automated printing
systems.
- Load presses with
paper and make necessary adjustments, according to paper size.
- Monitor automated
press operation systems and respond to fault, error, or alert messages.
- Start printers and
pull proofs to check for ink coverage and density, alignment, and
registration.
- Control workflow
scheduling or job tracking.
- Maintain time or
production records.
- Estimate and deliver
upon schedules and plans.
- Quality check own
work and work of others and fill out quality checklist properly.
- Maintain a safe
and clean work environment.
- Comply with
company policies and procedures and promote company values and culture.

Requirements
• Skilled in Operation Monitoring —watching gauges,
dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Knowledge
of Computers – applications and data processing.
• Knowledge
of the English language - structure and content of English language, including
the meaning and spelling of words, and rules of composition and grammar.
• Mathematical
