We are seeking a Production Supervisor that oversees machining to join a local machine shop in the Waupaca/Appleton, WI area for a direct hire.

Description:
Job Summary: We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Supervisor to lead daily operations across CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, shipping, and receiving in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment. This role is responsible for driving production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, meeting delivery commitments, and optimizing team performance while ensuring a safe, organized, and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily operations across CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, shipping/receiving, material preparation, and tool crib management.
• Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand, optimize workflow, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor performance metrics (output, scrap, delivery) and resolve issues that impact production.
• Enforce quality, safety, and regulatory compliance standards across all departments.
• Investigate incidents, lead safety training, and implement preventive measures.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate production staff, including conducting meetings, setting expectations, and managing schedules.
• Promote cross-training, continuous improvement, and a culture of accountability.
• Partner with Quality Assurance on product conformance, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and present production reports to management; collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and customer service to support operational goals.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree or technical diploma in manufacturing, industrial management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in CNC machining or manufacturing operations.
• Skilled in production scheduling, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
• Solid understanding of quality systems, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, communicate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in monitoring KPIs, problem-solving, and driving process improvements.
Work Environment:
• Work is performed on a manufacturing floor with regular exposure to machine noise, moving machinery, dust, coolants, and fine particulates.
• Machine shop conditions require adherence to established safety procedures.
• Use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required.
• Position requires hands-on tasks involving manual dexterity and frequent standing for extended durations.
