Interim Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance Department, partnering closely with the Controller, CFO, and FP&A teams to support critical accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost accounting, along with exceptional analytical skills, a collaborative approach, and a continuous improvement mindset. Job Title: Interim Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX (3 days/week onsite)

Pay Rate: $55 /hour (W2, based on experience)

Employment Type: 3 month contract with potential for extension.

What’s the Job?

• Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, analyzing financial results, and developing supporting reporting schedules.
• Manage and reconcile core accounting functions, including the general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, and accruals, while collaborating with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Produce timely and accurate financial statements and related analyses in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company standards, while supporting reporting needs for leadership, lenders, investors, and board stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the Controller to enhance internal control processes, support compliance and SOX-readiness efforts, maintain accounting policy documentation, and assist with audit and technical accounting initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting operations, optimize ERP systems, leverage automation and emerging technologies, and improve the overall efficiency and scalability of financial reporting processes.
  
  

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and best practice process experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required, including exposure to inventory and standard cost accounting.
• CPA designation preferred and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP technical accounting principles highly desired.
• Experience supporting ERP optimization, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration within a growing organization.
