ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Maple Grove Elementary is a K-5 neighborhood school that thrives on a long, rich history of high academic standards, parent involvement, and an unwavering focus on success for all children. Our instructional approach uses the workshop model to combine inquiry based instruction with foundational academics and social/emotional learning. Our goal is to provide students with the skills needed to apply their knowledge in real world contexts. Collaboration is foundational to all that we do. We plan cross-curricular units using Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Maple Grove foucuses on the whole child, Healthy Schools Initiatives, and teaches the 7 Principals of the Energy Bus. The school community has a strong partnership with the Parent Teacher Association to enrich classroom and instructions. Maple Grove has served the Applewood Community for over 150 years.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Develop and execute a variety of age-appropriate activities that align with the club?s focus (e.g., Lego, Reading, Running, Arts & Crafts, etc.).
Ensure activities are engaging, educational, and promote social-emotional development.
Supervise students to ensure safety and a respectful, inclusive atmosphere.
Promote positive behavior and enforce school rules. Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive experience for all students.
Work closely teachers and school administrators to ensure smooth communication and program alignment with school policies.
Track student attendance and maintain necessary records. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student participation and progress when needed.
Ensure all activities comply with school policies and safety guidelines. Be prepared to respond to emergencies, following established protocols.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience supervising groups of students.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or GED required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: None required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Capable of managing groups of students, keeping them engaged and motivated in a variety of activities. Able to manage conflicts or behavioral challenges in a calm, constructive manner. Strong verbal communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to make sound decisions on a day-to-day basis on appropriate communication with students and families/caregivers. Ability to read, interpret, follow, and instruct others on safety rules. Ability to modify plans appropriately for the needs of individual students. Demonstrates mature judgement in exercising appropriate supervision and expectations of students.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily working inside and around an elementary school. Typical elementary school building may also contain libraries, computer labs, and kitchens. May be exposed to outside elements during activities.
