Job Title: Technical Architect (Natural Adabas)
Contract: 7 months
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: Hybrid (occasional onsite)
A skilled Technical Architect is required for a key modernization project within the public healthcare technology space. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing systems built with Natural and Adabas, and helping to transition legacy mainframe applications onto a modern infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Adabas and Natural-based systems.
- Develop architectural blueprints ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
- Support mainframe migration and virtualization initiatives.
- Collaborate with developers, database teams, and vendors to ensure stable, efficient operations.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime.
- Provide guidance on best practices for Adabas and Natural development and database optimization.
- Monitor system performance and manage backup, recovery, and tuning processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years of experience with Adabas/Natural and related Software AG products.
- Strong background in database design, architecture, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing and maintaining legacy systems with a focus on modernization.
- Proficiency with tools such as Adabas Manager, EntireX Communicator, and Natural One.
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Government or healthcare IT project experience.
- Familiarity with Jira, SDLC methodologies, and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Knowledge of MA HIX or other state health exchange systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, or related field.
