As our Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, a strategic procurement leader responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for complex engineered components, assemblies, and services within an OEM manufacturing environment. This role goes beyond transactional purchasing and focuses on supplier strategy, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain Planning.
The role plays a key part in cost-reduction initiatives, supplier rationalization, lead-time improvement, and SIOP execution, while supporting new product introductions and long-term capacity planning. This position is located in Eastlake, Ohio with our DF&H division, Bevcorp.
On a given day, you may:
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Develop and execute category-level sourcing strategies aligned with business, margin, and capacity objectives
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, and negotiation for engineered components, fabricated parts, electrical components, and assemblies
- Drive supplier consolidation and 80/20 rationalization initiatives
- Establish and maintain preferred supplier agreements, long-term pricing, and capacity commitments
- Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness, cost) and lead corrective actions
- Utilize ERP software to place purchase orders as needed.
Cost Management & Value Engineering
- Identify and deliver year-over-year cost-reduction targets through negotiations, redesign-to-cost, and alternative sourcing
- Partner with Engineering on VA/VE initiatives, standardization, and make-vs-buy decisions
- Analyze should-cost models, market trends, and commodity drivers
- Support margin improvement through proactive sourcing decisions during quoting and project execution
SIOP & Operations Support
- Support Sales-Inventory-Operations Planning (SIOP) through capacity-aware sourcing decisions
- Secure supplier capacity and manage long-lead or constrained materials
- Collaborate with Operations to improve lead times, safety stock strategies, and supply continuity
- Actively mitigate supply-chain risk through dual sourcing and contingency planning
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Engineering Collaboration
- Participate in NPI teams to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable, and scalable sourcing solutions
- Review BOMs early to identify sourcing risks and cost drivers
- Lead sourcing activities from prototype through production release
Contracting & Compliance
- Negotiate and manage pricing agreements, LTAs, NDAs, and supplier contracts
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards
- Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and supplier records
Supply Chain Collaboration
- Align activities with corporate and divisional supply chain goals and strategies
- Collaborate with corporate and divisional supply chain functions
Requirements for the role:
- High school diploma and 10 year’s experience in a sourcing role
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years in sourcing role
- Knowledge of general machine manufacturing.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Experience reading engineered drawings preferred
- Experience working in an international industrial manufacturing company preferred
- Experience with international shipping preferred
- Ability to travel to suppliers’ locations 20-25% of time
- Location: Eastlake Ohio preferred (no relocation), for the right candidate some hybrid or remote may be considered
- The estimated annual salary range for this role is approximately $90-110 (annually). Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
