POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing logistical, operational and management support to the Engineering Services Division.
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Provides daily support to the Engineering Services Director, the superintendent of maintenance and the Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance
· Schedules and coordinates shift assignments of Refuse Collection Workers to assure solid waste sites are staffed to the operational needed.
· Enters time for Refuse Collection Workers.
· Coordinates the interview process for potential new hires in Engineering Services Division
· Participates in the interview process for potential new hires in Engineering Services Division
· Prepare first report of injures and accident investigation forms. Coordinates with the HR to ensure employee and employer’s needs are met.
· Assists employes with ADP time entry and timecard issues.
· Process, copies and records all bills and invoices for vehicles and/or buildings that come through Engineering Services regardless of the County Department being served.
· Prepares purchase order as per County Policy for all purchase orders being run through Engineering Services regardless of division.
· Procure goods and services needed using current procurement procedures and policies.
· Answers the office telephone, greets the public, provides information.
· Produces correspondence, memoranda, and reports
· Prepares monthly reports for the County Administrator
· Prepares monthly work schedules for Trash Sites
· Responsible for Solid Waste Reporting and Grants including but not limited to:
o Annual Report
o Full Cost Disclosure Report
o Grant Writing for Used Oil, Tires, and Solid Waste
o Quarterly Grant Reports on Used Oil, Tires, and Solid Waste
o Lead battery renewal for sites
o Tire stockpiles and their removal
o Tire Dismantlers Venders documentation
· Water Sampling Reporting
· Fuel System Management
o Be certified as UST Operator
o Underground Storage Tanks (UTS) Reporting and Inspections
o Fuel System Operation and Inventory
· Responsible for maintaining records, reporting and keeping insurance policies up to date including Comp and collision, liability, Inland Marine.
· Responsible for Assisting in Disaster Relief Efforts
o Debris site permitting
· Vehicle Management includes but not limited to
o Add new vehicle to County Systems
o Registration of all vehicles including Confidential Tags
o Create and assign a vehicle number
o Insurance
· Responsible for coordinating and processing insurance claims for vehicles. Including but not limited to:
o Obtaining statement from county employees.
o Documenting damage and condition of vehicle.
o Obtaining Police Reports
o Towing, damage estimates, vehicle repair process or totaling of vehicle.
· Responsible for and Coordinating Annual Building Inspections and Needs. Including but not limited to:
o Town of Ridgeland Backflow Water Valve Inspections
o Fire Alarm & Fire Suppression system inspections
o Elevator Testing, Inspections and Licensing
o Permanent Generator Annual Inspection
o Fire Marshal inspections
o Mold testing as required
o Pest Control
· Courthouse and Government Building HVAC and lighting operational system monitoring and adjustment.
· Assist in annual budget preparation as required.
· Coordinates right-of-way encroachment permits
· Coordinates disposal of County property as required by policy.
· Researching title and property information as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Knowledge of county and department policies and procedures.
· Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
· Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices.
· Knowledge of department operations.
· Skill in using a computer, calculator, facsimile machine, copier, and postage meter.
· Skill in oral and written communication.
· Underground Storage Tank Operator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
· Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is typically performed in an office. Some work will be conducted outdoors.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 2 – 3 years’ experience in related field or scope of work

Pay: $49,212.00 - $76,232.00 per year
