Job Description:
Jarbath Peña Law Group is seeking a proactive and bilingual Immigration Paralegal to join our busy legal team. This role involves assisting attorneys in providing exceptional client service by preparing legal documents, managing correspondence, and coordinating meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm environment, work well under pressure, and be highly organized and efficient. Responsibilities include managing multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documentation, and maintaining open communication with clients. Responsibilities:
· Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of various immigration petitions and applications, including family petitions, fiancé visas, investor visas, deportation defense, and waivers.
· Conduct legal research and gather necessary documentation to support immigration cases.
· Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and forms related to immigration proceedings.
· Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure timely completion of cases.
· Manage and maintain client files and case management systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
· Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with all court and agency requirements.
· Assist with client interviews and prepare detailed case summaries for attorney review.
· Stay current with changes in immigration laws and regulations to provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients and attorneys.
· Handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails and arranging meetings.
· Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
· Communicate with clients in English and Spanish.
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Knowledge and ability to process immigration cases from start to finish.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on immigration law.
· Strong knowledge of immigration forms, processes, and legal terminology.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
· Experience in a law firm environment.
· Ability to work well under pressure.
