Job Overview
Gallardo Law Firm is seeking a dedicated and organized Immigration Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have prior immigration law experience and be capable of assisting attorneys with a variety of immigration matters. Candidates with experience in asylum proceedings, removal defense, and USCIS filings are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file immigration applications and petitions with USCIS, EOIR, and other government agencies.
- Assist attorneys with immigration court and removal defense matters.
- Prepare and organize supporting documentation for asylum applications and other humanitarian relief proceedings.
- Draft legal correspondence, declarations, affidavits, and client communications.
- Monitor case deadlines and maintain accurate case files.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and document requests.
- Assist with family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, employment authorization applications, naturalization applications, and other immigration benefits.
- Support attorneys in case preparation for hearings and filings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Immigration Paralegal required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong understanding of immigration procedures and documentation.
- Experience with asylum applications and USCIS filings is strongly preferred.
- Experience with removal defense matters is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with immigration case management software is a plus.
