ENTRY-LEVEL LAND SURVEY TECHNICIAN

$16/hour | Full-time, 40-hour workweek plus overtime

Janes Surveying is looking for a dependable, hands-on person to join our Palmyra field crew. Whether you’re finishing school or looking for a different direction, you can learn a technical trade while working outdoors. No surveying experience is required.
You’ll work alongside experienced surveyors, using GPS equipment and digital tools to measure land, locate features and collect information used to prepare surveys. This is real work with real responsibility, and an opportunity to build skills you can use throughout your career.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Help set up and operate surveying equipment under crew direction.
- Assist with measurements, survey control and accurate field notes.
- Work across fields, woods and other outdoor terrain.
- Keep equipment, supplies and the crew vehicle organized and maintained.
- Follow instructions, work safely and do your part to keep the crew moving.
WHAT WE NEED
- Someone who shows up on time, works hard and wants to learn.
- Comfort using a phone or computer and learning new equipment.
- Attention to detail and the willingness to ask questions.
- Ability to carry 25 pounds over extended distances.
- Willingness to work outdoors in heat, cold and changing weather.
- Availability for overtime and occasional overnight travel.
PAY AND BENEFITS
- $16 per hour, with overtime.
