Position Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member will teach DSIM courses in both the undergraduate and/or MBA programs consistent with their expertise and industry experience. The faculty member will have interest and experience in the area of Information Systems, with demonstrated ability or interest in statistics and/or business intelligence and analytics.
Preferred qualities include a desire to serve Jacksonville University’s students and engage with the local business community. An MBA degree or equivalent is required. Candidates must demonstrate teaching and proven abilities in Information Systems, business methods and analysis, statistics, and business analytics to be seriously considered. The ideal faculty member will demonstrate teaching excellence at peer institutions and provide exceptional administrative references, student evaluations, and other third-party evidence of classroom success.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Teach lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses as well as graduate-level courses.
• Develop effective courses, benchmarking best teaching practices in Decision Science and Information Management.
• Demonstrate the ability to engage students and participate in an outcomes-based educational environment.
• Engage with local businesses, government and nonprofit entities, and other stakeholders; maintaining a professional network is critical.
• Mentor students and support their career goals through introductions and referrals to firms, government, or local nonprofit organizations.
• Teach as needed each semester.

• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Information Systems, business methods and analysis, statistics, and business analytics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Passion for teaching, evidenced by strong student evaluations and demonstrated teaching success.
• Ability to teach effectively across a range of courses within the discipline.
• Commitment to diversity and ability to work effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus and business community.
Education and Experience
• MBA or equivalent degree from an accredited institution required.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence and professional experience in a related business discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
• Work experience in business or industry related to the discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in professional or academic settings.
