Position Summary
Jacksonville University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in Electrical Engineering within the School of Sciences & Mathematics. The adjunct faculty member will teach courses and/or labs.
Lecture and laboratory sections are typically scheduled during daytime hours, with occasional evening sections depending on enrollment and department needs.
Essential Job Duties
• Deliver engaging lectures and supervise laboratory activities in assigned courses
• Develop and maintain course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with program objectives
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Hold regular office hours and maintain accessibility to students for course-related support
• Promote a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving
• Ensure all safety standards and laboratory procedures are followed
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff to enhance curriculum development and instructional quality
Required Skills/Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering principles and applications
• Proficiency with relevant software and laboratory tools (e.g., MATLAB, Multisim, LabVIEW, or similar)
• Ability to deliver engaging instruction to students with varied academic backgrounds
• Strong organizational and time management skills
Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (Ph.D. preferred)
• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in electrical engineering or a related discipline
• Prior college-level teaching experience preferred
• Industry experience in electrical engineering or related field strongly desired
