Security

Purpose Statement:

Supervision of student and staff security as well as perform tasks that are related to the safety and security of the total

school program and any other duties as deemed necessary by the principals and teachers (as assigned) in the building.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities: (Could include but does not include all tasks employee may be expected to

perform.)

 Ensure hallways, locker rooms, and restrooms are secured and supervised as needed.

 Supervise cafeteria during lunch hours.

 Monitor via security cameras and video.

 Manage detention room operations when detention staff is absent or on break.

 Ensure safety of students at bus drop off and pick up areas before and after school.

 Assist with collection of student portfolio materials.

 Write detentions and contact parents for improper hallway behavior.

 Ability to work with students of all ages

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Ability to promote harmonious relationships with students, parents, staff, and administrators.

 Ability to maintain consistent and fair goals.

 Strong problem solving and decision making skills

 Ability to multitask.

 Knowledgeable about appropriate restraint procedures

Physical Demands (if applicable): The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by

an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. (Example: While performing the duties of this

job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers,

tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs. The employee is occasionally

required to reach with hands and arms and continuously will repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times as in

typing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.)

 Ability to walk and stand for most of the day.

 Must have the physical ability and strength to restrain students (if needed)

 May have to sit for long periods during the day
