Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote student engagement, retention, and success.
- Serve as a primary advocate for students, addressing their concerns and facilitating communication between students and administration.
- Oversee the student conduct process, ensuring fair and equitable treatment while upholding institutional policies and standards.
- Collaborate with academic departments to support students’ academic and personal growth through workshops, counseling, and mentoring programs.
- Lead efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student body and broader campus community.
- Coordinate with various campus departments to provide resources and support services, including mental health services, academic advising, and career counseling.
- Manage crisis situations involving students, providing support and intervention as needed.
- Monitor and assess student satisfaction and engagement through surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Develop and manage the budget for student services, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior administration on student issues, trends, and program effectiveness.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field; Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in student affairs or related roles within a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of student development theories and best practices in student services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Proven ability to handle crisis situations and provide effective support to students in distress.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis and assessment to inform decision-making and program development.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
