We are partnering with a well‑established organisation that is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to support their continued growth. This role will play a key part in overseeing payroll operations across a multi‑entity environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll act as a trusted internal resource for payroll leadership, process optimisation, compliance oversight and team development.
Responsibilities
• Oversee end‑to‑end payroll processing for a large, multi‑entity workforce across multiple states and international jurisdictions.
• Supervise and mentor payroll team members, providing guidance, training, and performance support.
• Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and internal SOX‑related controls.
• Review, analyse, and approve payroll data to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies.
• Manage payroll audits, collaborate with internal and external auditors, and resolve complex payroll issues.
• Maintain and enhance payroll processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and system optimisation.
• Develop and maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to support cross‑functional initiatives and ensure alignment on payroll‑related requirements.
• Utilise advanced Excel skills and payroll systems (Business Central experience preferred) to support reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
• Balance day‑to‑day payroll operations with strategic initiatives focused on compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Support system upgrades, testing, and configuration changes related to payroll functionality.
• Manage competing priorities and strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Skills and Experience
• Strong Payroll expertise, including experience in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience managing payroll in a high‑volume, multi‑entity environment.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and international payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Experience working within a publicly traded company with knowledge of SOX compliance.
• Proficiency with payroll systems; Business Central experience is highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, analysis, and data validation.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within a team‑oriented environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience managing audits and resolving complex payroll issues.
• Ability to document processes, develop training materials, and support cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence working directly with stakeholders across the business.
• CPP certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
