What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Jackson Industrial Construction?
Experience:
Machine operating: 1 year (required) i.e. saw, beam line, plasma
Responsibilities:
- Operate machine, forklift and other equipment as required
- Follow safe operating policies and procedures
- Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e. safety glasses while in shop and respirator as required)
- Basic understanding of decimals and fractions and the ability to read a tape measure
- Responsible for moving and staging steel
- Responsible for deburring & grinding parts as needed
- Ability to read Blueprints
What you will need to be successful:
- Communication skills
- Ability to collaborate
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of material
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to repeat movements
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
