Position Summary
Our private classical school seeks a joyful, organized, and mission-driven Second Grade Teacher who loves helping students build strong academic foundations during the Grammar School years. The ideal candidate delights in cultivating curiosity, wonder, and strong habits of learning while providing excellent instruction in literacy and mathematics using Spaulding phonics and writing and Singapore Math.
This is a full-time position beginning in the upcoming academic year.

Primary Responsabilites
Classroom Instruction
- Plan and deliver a classical second-grade curriculum including:
- Reading and writing through the Spaulding Method
- Mathematics using Singapore Math
- Literature, poetry, handwriting, history, and science
- Foster strong habits of attention, responsibility, and perseverance.
- Create an orderly, joyful, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support students’ academic, social, and character development.
- Assess student progress regularly and maintain clear records.
- Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners.
- Encourage a love of learning and a sense of wonder.
- Partner closely with parents through regular communication.
- Work collaboratively with grade-level colleagues and specialists.
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development.
- Contribute positively to the life and culture of the school.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Teaching certification or ability to obtain certification
- Experience teaching elementary students (primary grades preferred)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Training or experience with Spaulding phonics
- Training or experience with Singapore Math
- Experience or strong interest in classical education

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
