The Manager oversees subcontractors and custodial staff while proactively recommending new procedures to increase operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Maintenance
- General Upkeep: Maintain and repair all JHCA-owned equipment, including playground structures, kitchen appliances, vehicles, and specialized classroom tools (woodworking, sewing, metalworking, etc.).
- System Compliance: Manage scheduled inspections and servicing for grease traps, fire suppression systems, alarms, generators, kitchen hoods, neutralization tanks, and solid waste interceptors.
- Janitorial Oversight: Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, janitorial services, carpet cleaning, and pest control.
- Repairs: Promptly repair damage to walls, floors, doors, and cabinetry caused by daily wear or incidents.
- Inventory & Assets: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all JHCA property; oversee the organization of closets and storage buildings.
- Grounds & Logistics: Provide and oversee snow removal (including subcontractor management); ensure walkways remain clear. Manage flag protocols and daily hanging in accordance with national standards.
- Classroom Support: Deliver and set up desks, chairs, and classroom items. Install whiteboards, cork boards, posters, and flags.
- Protocol Management: Maintain, update, and provide employee training on all campus security protocols.
- Emergency Preparedness: Conduct all required emergency drills in coordination with government officials and the Head of School.
- Liaison Duties: Serve as the primary point of contact for city, county, and state emergency personnel.
- Access Control: Manage the disbursement and collection of school keys and technology devices during onboarding/offboarding. Provide security codes or access cards for employees and approved third parties.
- Event Logistics: Support academy and public events through coordinated setup and tear-down.
- Traffic Flow: Assist with the daily flow of student drop-off and pick-up.
- Budgeting: Assist the Operations Director with the annual facilities budget and capital improvement planning.
- Extensive and diversified background in facilities management with at least three years of related experience.
- Level IV Security Certification and/or Law Enforcement experience is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, management, and "customer-service" focused communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Google Docs and facility management software.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Highest standards of integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and reliability.
- Typically aligns with the school calendar but requires early mornings and occasional evening/weekend work for events.
- Expected to work after hours or above 40 hours per week when supporting major events.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and thrive in a fast-paced, active environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $105,000
