Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques
- Assist pharmacists with medication inventory management and ordering
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and offering medication guidance
- Support intake processes for new patients and medication orders
- Ensure compliance with hospital or LTC pharmacy protocols and safety standards
- Maintain meticulous documentation of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Participate in medication reconciliation and review patient charts for accuracy
- Adhere to infection control procedures and safety protocols during all pharmacy activities
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
- Critical care experience is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail
- Familiarity with intake procedures and medication reconciliation processes
