Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic and Cerner.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for a wide range of conditions across outpatient, inpatient, urgent care, and post-acute settings.
- Administer injections, perform suturing, catheterization, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and other clinical procedures with sterile technique.
- Manage medication administration, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), hospice & palliative medicine, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as sonography and laboratory testing for diagnostic evaluation.
- Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and working within Workers' Compensation law frameworks.
- Engage in health coaching and patient education on topics like family planning, nutrition, chronic disease management (e.g., infectious disease care), and post-discharge instructions.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and infection prevention standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Participate in clinical research projects or teaching hospital programs as needed.
- Collaborate with specialists in areas like cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ophthalmology), anesthesiology (airway management), and other subspecialties to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from an accredited program.
- Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience preferred.
- Extensive clinical background in acute care environments including ICU (Level II trauma center experience), emergency room (ER) experience, hospital medicine, or critical care settings.
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience administering injections (including dermal fillers), suturing, catheterization, venipuncture; proficiency in sterile processing techniques.
- Familiarity with specialized fields such as gastroenterology (gastric lavage), infectious disease care, pain management (acute pain management), occupational health, hospice & palliative medicine.
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to primary care practice; ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to NCQA standards; commitment to ongoing professional development through training opportunities. Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
