Role Overview
Jackson Dawson is seeking a Financial Project Manager to join our team in Dearborn, MI. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for tracking and reporting financials across operations, events, and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects. You’ll manage vendor payments, staffing costs, and budgets while working closely with our finance, account, and production teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Salary Range: $85,000–$95,000 annually
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Monitor daily financial activity for Team projects, including operations, events, and CapEx.
- Collect and organize financial data to support effective project management.
- Participate in financial review meetings, focusing on budget trends, forecasting, and actual cost reporting.
Daily Tasks
- Track and reconcile vendor payments and staffing expenses.
- Process and categorize invoices for submission and system entry.
- Maintain detailed records by job number, project, event, and CapEx.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate documentation and ledger entries.
- Prepare backup documentation for all costs and labor for internal and client use.
- Manage staff expense reports, categorize by contract, and apply appropriate markups per client agreements.
Monthly Tasks
- Update monthly cost accruals and forecasts for client reporting.
- Maintain financial data for Experience Center, Event Support, Restaurant, and shared categories.
- Develop systems to improve collaboration with the Business Office.
- Standardize internal financial processes and communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Associate’s degree also considered).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or project cost tracking—preferably in operations, events, or CapEx.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with general ledger management, invoice processing, and expense reconciliation.
- Ability to interpret rate cards for labor and service costs.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience supporting audits and client cost reviews.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to design and maintain financial systems and processes.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial data.
- Experience with cost forecasting and monthly reporting is a plus.
