Job Overview
The Car Prep Manager leads a team in preparing off-road vehicles for customer adventures by ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready to use. This role involves hands-on work and coordination to deliver high-quality vehicle prep daily.
Schedule
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Availability for weekends and holidays is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prep, clean, and detail off-road vehicles, covering both interior and exterior surfaces.
- Lead the team by demonstrating proper use of tools and techniques on every vehicle.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and performance, including fluids, tires, and exterior condition.
- Manage workflow by driving vehicles from wash bay to staging, fueling them, and confirming readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure supplies remain stocked.
- Train new hires, schedule shifts, and verify team members have proper PPE and skills.
- Coordinate with Fleet Manager, Site Producer, and Trail Guides for smooth operations.
- Step in as needed to support the team with strong leadership and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of leadership experience, preferably in vehicle detailing.
- Skills in manual transmissions and paint correction equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with car care products, production-style prep, jacks, and compressors.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., work outdoors in all weather, and handle independent problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and team-focused.
