Giambalvo Hyundai of Hanover is currently seeking a full-time Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing service team. We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment and is passionate about creating outstanding service experiences.
Position Summary
The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships, coordinating repair and maintenance services with technicians, communicating effectively throughout the repair process, and ensuring an exceptional overall customer experience.
Successful candidates will be professional, organized, customer-focused, and capable of balancing customer satisfaction with efficient service department operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greet customers in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
Schedule service appointments using dealership-approved scheduling software
Communicate with customers to accurately identify vehicle concerns and service needs
Coordinate repair orders with technicians and monitor repair progress throughout the day
Advise customers on recommended maintenance and repair services in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
Perform and document multi-point vehicle walk-around inspections when applicable
Provide accurate estimates for labor, parts, and completion timeframes
Communicate updates regarding repair progress, delays, or additional recommendations
Obtain and properly document customer approvals for additional repairs or services
Handle incoming phone calls regarding appointments, repair status, and service inquiries
Maintain accurate customer and vehicle information within dealership systems
Compare final invoices with original repair orders to ensure accuracy
Follow up on previously recommended repairs and customer service opportunities
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and professionalism at all times
Understand and follow manufacturer warranty policies, dealership procedures, and applicable safety regulations
Qualifications
Prior Automotive Service Advisor experience preferred
Previous customer service experience required, preferably in an automotive environment
Hyundai or import brand experience is a plus
General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations helpful
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership software systems
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
High school diploma or equivalent required
