What You Will Own
- Full responsibility for the accounting and finance function, including the monthly close, financial reporting, and the integrity of the books
- Leadership and management of an established, highly capable accounting team, including their continued development
- Cash and accrual reporting, GAAP financial statements, and management reporting that leadership can run the business on
- Cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Property-level and corporate accounting across a large multifamily portfolio
- Banking, treasury, audit, and tax coordination with outside advisors
- Internal controls, process improvement, and systems
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- CPA strongly preferred, but not required
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Accounting) a plus, but not required
Qualifications and Requirements
- 7 years of progressive accounting leadership, including time in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Proven experience leading, managing, and developing an accounting team
- Multifamily, property management, or real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
- Deep command of GAAP, the monthly close, and financial statement preparation
- Hands-on experience with both cash and accrual reporting
- Experience with property management accounting systems; Rent Manager is a plus
- Track record of building and scaling finance functions in a high-growth environment a plus
- Embraces and actively explores the use of AI and technology to drive efficiency and quality across the finance function
- Comfortable reporting directly to ownership and operating with full accountability
- In-person position at our Fridley office. Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
