Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney

Experience: 3–7 years of relevant attorney experience

J&R Ross Agency, LLC is recruiting a Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney for a law firm’s Taxation and Wealth Planning Department in Atlanta.

This opportunity offers sophisticated estate planning work, meaningful responsibility for client matters, and collaboration with colleagues on complex tax and fiduciary issues. The ideal candidate brings substantial experience personally drafting estate planning documents and advising high-net-worth clients on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters.

What you’ll do

• Design estate planning and wealth transfer strategies tailored to clients’ assets, family circumstances, and long-term objectives.
• Personally draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and related estate planning documents.
• Advise on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes, including applicable exemptions and exclusions.
• Develop and implement strategies involving irrevocable gifting trusts, charitable giving, and other advanced planning techniques.
• Counsel trustees, executors, and beneficiaries on fiduciary responsibilities and trust and estate administration.
• Manage complex matters, communicate recommendations clearly, and coordinate with colleagues to deliver responsive client service.

What you bring

• Juris Doctor degree and an active Georgia law license in good standing.
• Five to seven years of substantive trusts and estates experience, including estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families.
• Demonstrated responsibility for drafting estate planning documents and developing wealth transfer strategies.
• Strong working knowledge of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax principles.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical judgment, and attention to detail.
• Confidence managing client relationships and explaining complex planning options with clarity and discretion.
