Position Purpose
The Career-Connected Learning (CCL) Coach leads the design and implementation of experiences that help every Knox student explore who they are, connect learning to the real world, and envision their future pathways.
This role aligns with Knox’s mission — Engaged Today. Transforming Tomorrow. — by ensuring every student identifies and explores passions and interests, engages in authentic learning, and is exposed to career-connected learning opportunities at school and within the community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Program Design & Coordination
- Lead Career-Connected Learning initiatives.
- Partner with teachers to design career-connected projects, field experiences, and mentorship opportunities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to embed real-world contexts and durable skills into classroom learning.
- Align CCL experiences to the district’s Portrait of a Graduate and Knox’s Graduate Aims.
Partnership Development & Management
- Build and sustain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and higher education institutions.
- Coordinate logistics for job shadows, guest speakers, workplace visits, and career showcases.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners and communicate regularly about opportunities for engagement.
- Develop systems for tracking student participation and outcomes from community-based learning.
Student Development & Guidance
- Lead student reflection processes and portfolio development to capture learning from CCL experiences.
- Collaborate with the College & Career Coach to help students identify strengths, interests, and goals aligned to future pathways.
- Support teachers and advisors in implementing structured reflection, feedback, and goal-setting sessions.
Professional Learning & Collaboration
- Provide training for staff on integrating career-connected learning into academic instruction.
- Collaborate with the school administration to align CCL experiences with standards and performance tasks.
- Partner with the SEL–Wellness Coach to ensure relevance and belonging in every student experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Career Development, or related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in teaching, workforce development, or community engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to design and coordinate experiential learning programs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or Organizational Leadership.
- Experience in career and technical education (CTE) or project-based learning.
- Familiarity with work-based learning systems, partner engagement, and portfolio development.
- Experience supporting middle grades students in career exploration and skill development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of student career development theory and durable skill frameworks.
- Skill in partnership cultivation, event coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to align experiential learning with academic standards.
- Commitment to equity, access, and relevance in all student experiences.
