What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associates - Shipping position at J&D Tube Benders?

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Associate to become part of our team. This position is responsible for preparing products for shipment, verifying customer shipping requirements, and ensuring orders are accurately packaged and delivered on time. Full-time positions are available on both shifts. First shift hours are currently, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 3:30 pm. Second shift hours are currently Monday - Thursday, 3:30 pm - 2:00 am. Additional overtime may be available and is almost always voluntary.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and ship products according to customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Verify order accuracy, including quantities, part numbers, and shipping requirements.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers and assist in resolving shipping issues when needed.
- Safely load, unload, and move materials while following all safety procedures.
- Maintain organized shipping and staging areas and assist with inventory-related activities.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand on concrete for 8-10 hours
- Basic math skills (understand units of measurement) and reading skills
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to operate hand tools and manufacturing equipment safely
- Ability to move around the shop as needed
- Attention to detail
