Job Description Overview The Laborer & Helper is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the proper functioning, cleanliness, and appearance of company facilities and equipment. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in general maintenance, light electrical work, plumbing, painting, and exterior cleaning. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on building areas, fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, locks, and appliances.Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot minor issues.Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, and supplies.Light Electrical Install, replace, or repair basic electrical components such as switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, fans, and smoke detectors.Follow electrical safety procedures and applicable codes.Test and inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation.Plumbing Install, replace, and repair basic plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, and pipes.Clear clogged drains and toilets.Detect and repair leaks; follow plumbing codes and safety standards.Painting Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.Apply primer, paint, and sealant.Use brushes, rollers, and sprayers to complete finish work.Match and mix paint colors as needed.Exterior Cleaning/Pressure Washing Clean and sanitize external surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, and roofs.Operate pressure-washing equipment safely and effectively.Remove dirt, mold, algae, and stains while following environmental and safety guidelines.Additional Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and business.Qualifications High school diploma or GED required.At least one year of experience in maintenance or a related field preferred.Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and customer-service skills.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
