We are seeking a Science Teacher to teach 6th Grade Biology and 9th Grade Environmental Science. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, & a love for science through engaging, student-centered instruction. This role is perfect for an educator who is excited to integrate outdoor learning, project-based instruction, & real-world applications into their teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Biology and Environmental Science
- Create a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, respect, and high expectations
- Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences
- Utilize outdoor and experiential learning opportunities when appropriate
- Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, families, and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license (or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee)
- Strong content knowledge in Biology and Environmental Science
- Experience with project-based or experiential learning preferred
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
