What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Center Administrative Assistant position at IVI RMA North America?
IVI RMA North America has a need for a full-time Surgical Center Administrative Assistant for our Basking Ridge, NJ location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm with 2 weekend days a month.
Job Purpose: The Surgical Center Administrative Assistant is responsible for applying administrative and clerical skills that support the organization’s mission, values, ethics, philosophy, objectives and policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Participates in the nursing process by assisting nurses and physicians in the PACU/Surgical Suite as directed and requested.
- Prepares patient charts using ASCBR protocols and procedures; ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Prepares patient transfer schedules.
- Contacts transfer patients with arrival time and instructions. Refers clinical questions and/or assessments to nurses or physicians.
- Maintains office supplies’ inventory and orders office supplies as needed.
- Ensures sufficient snacks & beverages for patients.
- Secures operation of office equipment (non-clinical) by adhering to preventive maintenance programs; troubleshoots malfunctions; equipment vendors, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
- Initiates and coordinates the clerical and secretarial functions required for the effective implementation of center administrative/operation policies and procedures.
Academic Training:
- High school diploma or GED – required
- Studies level: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Position Requirements/Experience
- Experience working in medical/healthcare industry
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel
- Computer operation and data entry skills
