The Opportunity:
A rapidly growing, nationally recognized electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Director of Estimating to lead and develop its estimating function in Houston or Dallas

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating department across multiple large-scale electrical construction projects
- Oversee bid strategy, pricing, scope reviews, risk analysis, and final proposal submissions
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of estimators and preconstruction professionals
- Review estimates for accuracy, competitiveness, constructability, and commercial risk
- Partner with executive leadership, operations, business development, and project teams
- Establish consistent estimating procedures, reporting standards, and best practices
- Evaluate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor pricing
- Lead bid reviews and provide recommendations on project selection and pursuit strategy
- Build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Support the transition of awarded projects from estimating into operations
- Recruit and develop additional estimating talent as the department continues to grow
- Help drive long-term strategy across the company’s expanding Texas operations
Ideal Background:
- Extensive estimating or preconstruction experience within the electrical contracting industry
- Previous experience leading an estimating team or department
- Strong knowledge of commercial, industrial, mission-critical, healthcare, or large-scale electrical construction
- Proven experience managing complex bids and significant electrical scopes
- Excellent understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, project risk, and market conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining involved in critical estimates and bid reviews
- Experience with estimating software, takeoff platforms, and construction management systems
- Established relationships within the Houston construction market would be highly advantageous

Salary and Benefits:
- Base salary up to $225,000
- Annual bonus potential of up to 75%
