General Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead their manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada, as it enters a high growth period serving the aerospace and defense industry. This is a high-impact executive leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, delivering customer commitments, and leading the site's continued growth.

The successful candidate will provide visible leadership across the entire operation, balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution while taking ownership of operational performance, financial results, and organisational development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a workforce of approximately 100 employees across manufacturing, engineering, HR, and supporting functions.
• Foster a culture centred on safety, accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.
• Ensure customer commitments are consistently achieved through effective production planning and execution.
• Drive operational performance across quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Manage a two-shift manufacturing operation while preparing the site for continued growth.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team capable of supporting long-term expansion.
• Take ownership of site financial performance, including budgets, cost management, and P&L responsibility (depending on the level of appointment).
• Partner closely with executive leadership to execute business strategy and achieve company objectives.
• Deliver annual business priorities and strategic initiatives alongside core operational targets.

Candidate Profile

Our client is looking for an established manufacturing leader who has successfully managed complex production operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience leading manufacturing facilities.
• A proven track record of managing large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong people leadership with the ability to engage and develop hourly employees through to senior professionals.
• Experience managing manufacturing operations through periods of growth or production scale-up.
• A history of delivering operational performance while maintaining a strong safety culture.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
• Strong commercial and operational decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing customer commitments within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Manufacturing General Manager, Plant Manager, Site Leader, or equivalent.
• Responsibility for manufacturing operations generating approximately $30 million in annual revenue.
• Leadership of manufacturing sites employing around 100 people.
• Experience scaling operations into high-volume commercial manufacturing.
• P&L ownership and financial management experience
