The Role
As a Data Center Commissioning Specialist, you will play a key role during the construction and commissioning phases of hyperscale data center projects, ensuring electrical and mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards before handover.
Working alongside General Contractors and project teams, you will be responsible for quality assurance, system readiness, inspections, and supporting the safe energisation of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction phase commissioning on hyperscale data center projects.
- Complete Level 1-3 commissioning activities across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Inspect installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Support equipment testing, start-up, energisation, and turnover activities.
- Coordinate with General Contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams throughout project delivery.
- Identify deficiencies and drive resolution prior to system handover.
- Maintain detailed commissioning documentation and reporting.
- Promote a strong culture of safety and quality on every project.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in professionals with experience in mission-critical environments who understand the pace and standards required on hyperscale projects.
Ideal backgrounds include:
- Previous data center commissioning experience (essential).
- Electrical or mechanical commissioning experience.
- Experience working on hyperscale or large mission-critical facilities.
- Background with an electrical contractor, mechanical contractor, general contractor, or commissioning firm.
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical building systems.
- Medium-voltage experience is highly desirable.
- Master Electrician license is a plus but not essential.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel nationwide.
