Specifications Writer

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Specification Writer to craft and coordinate project manuals and specifications across diverse building types. This role has a direct impact on ensuring that projects meet design intent, comply with codes, and exceed client expectations.

Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and coordinate technical specifications and project manuals
• Ensure documentation aligns with architectural drawings, codes, and client expectations
• Research materials and construction methods to support projects
• Maintain templates and contribute to firm-wide specification standards
• Collaborate with project teams and consultants to resolve technical questions
• Participate in quality assurance reviews of project documentation
• Attend occasional site visits or meetings as needed

What You’ll Need to be Considered:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat and construction materials, methods, and codes
• Proficiency in specification software (MasterSpec, e-SPECS, or similar)
• Experience maintaining firm-wide specification templates or standards
• Knowledge of evolving building codes and regulations
• Construction administration experience, including reviewing submittals for technical compliance
