Position Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, security, and performance of all systems, networks, servers, and related technologies across the enterprise. The position supports business operations by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, enforcing security policies, managing disaster recovery solutions, and recommending technology improvements that align with organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting Windows, Linux, and VMware-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and security best practices.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Ensure critical business systems remain available, secure, and perform optimally during business hours.
- Administer and support:
- Windows desktops and servers
- Linux servers
- VMware virtualization environments
- Printers and multifunction devices
- Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, including:
- HPE Alletra storage systems
- HPE Nimble storage
- Network switches
- Firewalls
- APC power infrastructure
Network Administration
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise networking equipment, including Cisco Meraki switches and related infrastructure.
- Maintain network segmentation and micro-segmentation solutions, including Illumio.
- Administer perimeter security platforms, including SonicWall firewalls and Cloudflare services.
- Document and maintain network topology diagrams, system architecture, and security access controls.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security controls to reduce risk and ensure compliance with industry best practices and Critical Security Controls (CSC).
- Manage identity and access management solutions, including:
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Linux Samba environments
- Administer security technologies, including:
- CrowdStrike
- BitLocker
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions such as DUO and Twilio
- Monitor system access and implement security policies based on organizational and departmental requirements.
Messaging & Collaboration
- Manage and support Microsoft 365 (O365) email services and email security platforms such as Proofpoint.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient communication systems across the organization.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including:
- VMware High Availability (HA)
- Veeam Backup & Replication
- StoneFly synchronization technologies
- Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness processes are documented, tested, and maintained.
Asset & Patch Management
- Procure, track, and manage IT hardware and software assets using asset management platforms such as NinjaOne.
- Perform operating system and application patch management to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline IT administration and operational processes.
- Analyze organizational technology needs and recommend infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and strategic initiatives.
End-User Support
- Provide advanced technical support to internal staff while maintaining a single point of contact support model.
- Track, document, and resolve incidents, service requests, and technology-related issues.
- Communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely issue resolution and project completion.
Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
