Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft 365 Exchange Engineer for a 3 month contract engagement with potential extension. This role is responsible for supporting and optimizing enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, including Exchange Online, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot (Email Copilot).
Responsibilities
Messaging & Exchange Online Support
- Administer and support Exchange Online, including mailboxes, shared mailboxes, and distribution groups.
- Manage email routing, transport rules, and troubleshoot mail flow issues.
- Support email security using Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
- Implement retention policies, archiving, and compliance configurations.
- Assist with Exchange migrations and hybrid configurations (if applicable).
Outlook Support
- Provide advanced support for Outlook (desktop, web, and mobile).
- Resolve issues related to profiles, synchronization, performance, and add-ins.
- Manage calendar sharing, delegation, and mailbox permissions.
- Support cross-device and cross-platform Outlook functionality.
Microsoft Teams Support
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams (chat, meetings, and collaboration).
- Resolve issues with Teams meetings, calendars, and voice/calling features.
- Manage Teams policies, governance, and lifecycle of Teams environments.
- Ensure proper integration between Teams and Exchange Online.
Microsoft 365 Copilot (Email Copilot) Support
- Support rollout and adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot within Outlook and Teams.
- Troubleshoot Copilot-related issues (licensing, access, functionality).
- Guide users on using Copilot for email drafting, summarization, and productivity.
- Promote best practices for AI-assisted communication tools.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Support DLP, retention policies, and eDiscovery.
- Ensure messaging environments meet organizational compliance standards.
- Work with identity teams on access and security controls.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Use PowerShell to automate administrative and operational tasks.
- Identify process improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Stay updated on Microsoft 365 features and roadmap changes.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience with Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication abilities.
Hands-on expertise with:
- Exchange Online administration
- Outlook troubleshooting
- Microsoft Teams support
- Email security and compliance tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MS-700, or similar).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Knowledge of hybrid Exchange environments.
- Understanding of DNS, SMTP, and Autodiscover.
