Accounting Opportunity: Sr. Payroll Specialist
iSuite L.L.C. is seeking a qualified professional to join our Accounting team. iSuite is a business support services organization formed in 2023. The organization provides business development and pursuit, estimating, safety, accounting, human resources, information technology, marketing, and training services to clients within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry.

We are currently looking for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting team located at our headquarters in Granite City, IL. Our ideal candidate for a Sr. Payroll Specialist will have 1 years of experience in a payroll or accounting role. This candidate will have experience taking a “hands on” role and will possess a general understanding of how Payroll and accounting roles relate to each other. This candidate should demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and thrive in a collaborative work environment. Construction experience is preferred; however, we welcome those who are eager to learn.
Primary responsibilities for iSuite’s Sr. Payroll Specialist include:
- Managing new hire setup and compliance, including I-9 verification and adherence to federal, state, local, and union-specific requirements.
- Processing weekly union payroll across multiple states and jobsites, ensuring accuracy in time, wage rates, jurisdictions, and collective bargaining agreement compliance.
- Administering union reporting and benefit contributions, including preparing and submitting weekly/monthly reports and resolving discrepancies to avoid penalties.
- Maintaining union setups and wage rates within the payroll system in alignment with current contracts and rate sheets.
- Processing bi-weekly staff payroll (multi-company and multi-state), including salaries, hourly wages, overtime, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Collaborating with HR and internal teams to ensure accurate payroll changes, documentation, and compliance with audit and internal control requirements.
Primary qualifications for iSuite’s Sr. Payroll Specialist include:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred, or equivalent payroll experience.
- Proven experience processing union and non-union payroll.
- Experience supporting payroll in construction, service, or field operations environments strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and union payroll regulations, including taxation and benefits.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to make sound decisions and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a positive, ownership-driven mindset; experience with Vista by Viewpoint is a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
