Preconstruction and Estimating Opportunity: Bid Breakout Specialist

iSuite L.L.C. is seeking a qualified professional to join our Preconstruction and Estimating team. iSuite is a business support services organization formed in 2023. The organization provides business development and pursuit, estimating, safety, accounting, human resources, information technology, marketing, and training services to clients within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry.

We are currently looking for a Bid Breakout Specialist to join our Preconstruction and Estimating team located in one of our IMI branch offices in Chesterfield, MO, Nashville, TN or Charlotte, NC. Our ideal candidate for a Bid Breakout Specialist is someone who has at least 5 years of construction and/or accounting experience.

Primary responsibilities for iSuite’s Bid Breakout Specialist include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to organize project scope into clear, definable bid packages and work components for documentation and billing purposes.
• Working with the preconstruction and estimating groups to ensure that all required bid forms, bid breakouts, schedules of values and cash flow statements have been identified early in the bid cycle and a plan is developed for their completion.
• Completing the bid forms, breakouts, schedules of values and cash flow statements during the bid cycle to ensure the documents are ready to be submitted to the client by the required bid due date.
• Coordinating with the operations department to ensure that all required bid forms, breakouts, schedule of values and cash flow statements have beenbuilt to support early billing and positive project cash flows.
• Utilizing Excel formulas, macros, automation tools, AI, or other platforms to efficiently populate and maintain bid documentation based on estimate data.
• Reviewing and comprehending technical and administrative documents such as Change Orders, Requests (COs) for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to ensure bid documentation accuracy and alignment.
• Performing detailed scope analysis to ensure all labor, material, equipment, and subcontracted work identified by the estimating team is captured and clearly defined within bid forms and breakouts.
• Supporting estimators and preconstruction teams by preparing bid breakout documents, scope sheets, and bid summaries for client submissions.

Primary qualifications for iSuite’s Bid Breakout Specialist include:

• 5 years of proven working experience in Construction or accounting Industry.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.), including advanced formulas and data organization within Excel.
• Strong technical skills to work across multiple platforms to review and sort large amounts of data to populate complex bid forms, breakouts, schedule of values and cash flow statements that can vary widely from project to project.
• Knowledge of the construction industry with an emphasis on project billing, schedules of values and cash flow mechanics.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams.
• Ability to use and interact with word processing tools at a moderate level (cut & paste, templates, document creation).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction accounting and experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Being a self-motivated team member with excellent time management skills.
• The ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi-task with changing priorities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Salary Range: $65,000 - $100,000
