We are seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to join a top pharmaceutical company in the Westchester County, NY area. The Senior Equipment Engineer will plan all major research equipment on a high profile, multi-billion dollar project.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the point person for coordinating all lab equipment related requirements on all Capital Projects.
- Work with R&D finance to budget and plan all major equipment, including special requirements, testing, shielding, shipping and rigging issues.
- Collaborate with various internal groups as well as outside companies for all the lab equipment related aspect of a project.
- Work with the end users and Asset Management team to identify new lab equipment and to develop thorough and accurate programming documents for lab equipment at the start of a project, including review of existing equipment to be relocated and specifications for new and existing equipment.
- Define all peripheral equipment to be purchased to meet process (end user) needs.
- Insure all vital spare parts and long lead time spare part items are defined and included in PO.
- Continue to monitor the status of the lab equipment acquisitions by the end users during the project to ensure that changes to the lab equipment list are addressed during the design phase
- Coordinate with preferred equipment vendors, the architects and engineers designing a project, the contractors and subcontractors building the project, the internal engineers and the EHS, IT and Operations groups to ensure that all specifications and requirements for the equipment are fully documented and that the design documents and construction execution fully addresses those requirements.
- Conduct field visits to the construction site including checking rough-in of utilities as well as checking utility connection points while finish work is being completed.
- Coordinate move management companies and lab equipment vendors in the installation, commissioning, calibration and validation of lab equipment (IQ, OQ, PQ and testing)
- 10 years of experience in design and/or construction projects involving laboratory equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
