Position is responsible for all aspects of organizing, directing, planning and coaching the high school boys basketball program.
The person is responsible for coaching student-athletes in skill development, strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition.
Daily lesson plans, clear goals/vision and objectives for student-athletes to reach their potential.
Work directly with the Activities Office for transportation, ordering supplies, uniforms, scheduling, etc.
Motivate student athletes to develop appreciation of the sport, and to help prepare students for life through the Why We Play program offered through the MSHSL.
Must be directly involved with the youth program, offering camps/clinics, attending youth board meetings representing the philosophy, mission, vision of the high school program.
Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and technique of the sport. Must meet MN Statute for varsity head coaches and complete MSHSL coaching education requirements

MN Statute 3512.3100 requires all Head Varsity Coaches to possess the following credentials:
- verification of completion of six quarter credits, or the equivalent, or 60 clock hours of instruction in first aid and the care and prevention of athletic injuries;
- verification of completion of a coaching methods or theory course.
