Position Overview

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems across a portfolio of high-end residential properties throughout the Aspen area. This seasonal role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in solving problems efficiently, and thrives in both independent and team settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems including valves, controllers, heads, and lines
• Perform spring system start-ups, mid-season inspections, and fall winterizations
• Diagnose and resolve irrigation issues such as leaks, pressure problems, and coverage inefficiencies
• Adjust and program irrigation controllers for optimal water efficiency
• Conduct routine property inspections to ensure systems meet Isabel Stone Landscapes quality standards
• Communicate repair needs, recommendations, and findings clearly to supervisors and clients
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Collaborate with landscape maintenance teams to ensure seamless, integrated service delivery

Qualifications

• Prior irrigation experience preferred — installation, repair, and diagnostics
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and system layouts
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a solutions-oriented mindset
• Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — required
• Strong communication skills and a professional, client-first approach
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying mountain weather conditions throughout the season

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently
• Frequently bend, kneel, dig, and work with hand tools throughout the workday
• Stand and work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Work comfortably at altitude and in the heat, cold, and uneven terrain common to the Aspen region
• Operate small machinery and irrigation-related equipment safely
