Position Summary
This is a newly established position within Iron-Vac Truck Sales LLC. The Parts & Production Inventory Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Parts Department and Production Inventory. In addition to managing inventory, purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and inventory controls, this position will help design, organize, document, and continuously improve the Company's parts and production inventory function. The successful candidate is expected to build systems, establish standards, and create efficient workflows that support current operations and future growth.
Position Development
Because this is a new position, the successful candidate will work with management to establish and document the Parts Department.
- Design warehouse layout and organization standards
- Establish inventory stocking, receiving, labeling, and storage procedures
- Implement production staging, palletizing, and build kit processes
- Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Establish inventory documentation, cycle count, and shortage reporting procedures
- Define department KPIs and reporting tools
- Prepare training materials for future Parts Department employees
- Recommend improvements that increase production efficiency and inventory accuracy

Primary Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels as determined by Production Manager / EVP
- Monitor inventory turnover
- Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to review weekly and daily build schedules and ensure all required parts are staged in advance
- Pull, stage, and palletize parts for each unit according to the production build schedule
- Create and maintain organized build kits
- Label pallets and kits clearly
- Verify accuracy and completeness before release to production
- Track shortages and communicate delays
- Maintain a dedicated production staging area
- Prioritize pulling based on workflow
- Coordinate timely delivery to technicians
- Update inventory allocations
- Resolve BOM discrepancies
- Continuously improve staging processes
Receiving
- Receive incoming shipments
- Verify quantities
- Inspect for shipping damage
- Match shipments to purchase orders
- Enter inventory into the management system
- Label and store inventory correctly
- Process returns and shortages
Financial Responsibilities
- Control inventory investment
- Monitor gross profit
- Manage inventory shrinkage
- Review daily sales reports
- Approve purchase orders within authority
- Assist with departmental budgeting
- Meet monthly sales and gross profit objectives
Safety
- Follow OSHA requirements

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous inventory management experience
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely lift over 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of commercial truck parts management
- Experience with dealership management software
- Experience with inventory control systems
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck diagnostics
- Experience supervising employees
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
